NOTICE OF PROPOSED REZONING PUBLIC HEARING The Dalton-Varnell-Whitfield County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing for the consideration of John S. Suttles to rezone from Heavy Manufacturing (M-2) to Rural Residential (R-5) a tract of land totaling 0.70 acres located on New Doris Street, Dalton, Georgia at Tax Parcels 12-255-03-034, 12-255-03-047 and 12-255-03-057 according to the Whitfield County Tax Assessor and more particularly described as follows: Tract 1: Lots Nos. 139, 140, 141, and 142 of the Fifth Avenue Subdivision, as per plat made by R.E. Smith, Surveyor, as appears of record in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court, in Plat Book No. 2, Page 50, Deed Records of Whitfield County, Georgia. Tax Parcel 12-255-03-057 Tract 2: 50 ft off the west end of Lot No. 137 and 138 and running east to a point at the corner of Lot No. 138 and 139 of the Fifth Avenue Subdivision as Per Plat made by R.E. Smith Surveyor and recorded in Plat Book No. 2, Page 50 in the Clerks Office of the Superior Court of Whitfield County Georgia. Tax Parcel 12-255-03-034 Lot Nos. 133, 134, 135, 136, and a part of the East ends of Lot Nos. 137 and 138. That part of Lot Nos. 137 and 138 being described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of Lot No. 138 running in a western direction across Lot 138 and 137 in a straight line to the Northwest Corner of Lot Nol 136. Said Lots lying and being in Fifth Avenue Subdivision as shown by Plat made by R.E. Smith, Surveyor, which plat is recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 50 in Office of Clerk of Whitfield Superior Court. Said tract herein conveyed is all the lands which I now own in said Subdivision. Tax Parcel 12-255-03-047 At the public hearing, comments from any person in regard to the rezoning request will be heard, and thereafter the Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission will deliberate and make a recommendation to the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners and to the City of Dalton Mayor and Council as to its recommendation for rezoning of said lands in Whitfield County, Georgia. Any opponent to this proposed rezoning action shall file a written disclosure statement with the Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission a minimum of five (5) days prior to the public hearing, concerning financial or material political contributions totaling $250 or more, made to one or more members of the Dalton City Council in the last two (2) years. Members of the public are invited to attend this hearing scheduled for Monday, June 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Whitfield County Courthouse Meeting Room located at 205 N.
